Give the things that make the difference

We are a small, grassroots charity working out of limited office space and while we would love to be able to store and redistribute everything you would like to donate we must be careful about what we accept.

The best time to drop off any donations to the office is after 2pm on Mondays, Wednesdays of Fridays, then I can meet you!

Please see the list below for our yes’s and no’s. Thank you for your understanding.

New vs second-hand

When someone we’ve supported accepts the keys on a tenancy, it’s sometimes the first place they have been able to call home for a very long time. Walking into a room with fresh new bed linen and a few other quality home comforts like a bedside table and lamp and a comfy chair to sit in, can go a long way to help people feel truly valued and restore self-esteem. This is often the first step in helping someone to rebuild their life and leave the trauma of homelessness behind for good.

We’ve broken down our most urgent needs of new items into two specific kits. You can help us build them by either making a donation to fund a complete kit below, or by buying the items directly and having them delivered straight to our office: KCAH, St Peter’s Church Hall, London Road, Kingston upon Thames, KT2 6QL.

New Home Starter Kit

Full bedding set (duvet, pillow, duvet cover, pillow case and fitted sheet) (single): thetowelshop.co.uk = £19.20

Full crockery and cutlery set (plates, mug, bowl, glass, cutlery): wayfair.co.uk = £19.99

Cookware (2 x saucepans, 1 x frying pan): johnlewis.com = £28.00

Kitchen Utensils: Amazon = £9.99

(All prices correct at time of publishing)

Total: £77.18

Feel free to make your own choices around donations, the excellent Save the World Club has a huge selection of crockery, cutlery and cookware, (which would double your community impact!), however we ask that the bedding sets are brand new.

Rough Sleeper Crisis Kit

Rucksack: mountainwarehouse.com = £14.99

Jogging bottoms: 5poundstuff.com = £6.25

New pants: primark.com = £10.00

New socks: asda,com = £4

(All prices correct at time of publishing – Sizes M and L please)

Total: £35.24

Feel free to make your own choices around donations, the above are suggestions.

FURNITURE DONATIONS

For furniture donations, we recommend that you contact Kingston Community Furniture Project.

FOOD DONATIONS

We keep a shelving unit stocked with specific items that we know are useful and relevant for the different groups of people we support. For people for whom a busy, loud hall is a prohibitive space, this offering is often a lifeline.
