The Story of Josie *
Josie first came to us as a young woman after a family breakdown involving substance use and mental health issues.
On the day she presented to us we were able to offer her accommodation in supported accommodation for 6 months and over the next few years she has been back to us several times as a trusted resource on her journey.
Another family breakdown, the pandemic, a mental health crisis, relapse, a marriage, divorce and a child, all steps along the way that we’ve been able to support her with by accessing the benefit system, advocating for her, being with her in addiction and recovery and helping her secure and maintain housing.
Josie is an incredibly resilient person, all the trials and hurdles she’s had to navigate could have brought anyone to their knees, but she continues to get up and keep going. She is, at time of writing, 3 months sober, she is housed and working towards spending more time with her son.
