The Story of Bill *

Bill came to Kingston to look after his son. His son had suffered a mental breakdown and ended up under the care of the hospital. The accommodation he shared with his son became unsafe  for him and he found himself unable to return there. Bill was 54 at the time.

Presenting to us as homeless on the day we were able to offer him space in our Winter Night Shelter, giving him somewhere safe to rest while we worked with him to register with the benefit system as he looked for work.

Once funds were secured we referred him to a private landlord who accepted his application and he now lives in the area, still looking for work and is there to support and care for his son whenever he can.
