The Story of Ibrahim *

Ibrahim suffers from severe mental health issues as well as living with a chronic physical health problem. He had been in mental health accommodation, but with several hospitalisations over the past year, he lost his tenancy.

He spent a short amount of time sleeping rough before coming to us. Given his complex vulnerabilities, a standard space in the winter night shelter was not a safe or viable option for him, meaning the clock was ticking for us to find something suitable for his needs.

Working closely with medical providers, adult social care and hospitals, the picture of evidence was built, and we were able to collaborate with the relevant teams to ensure he was placed in temporary accommodation within 24 hours.

Our advocacy continued for Ibrahim and we pursued all avenues in our attempts to help him into longer-term supported housing before his health declined.

He has since been back in hospital and our relationship with him continues as we help to coordinate a permanent solution.
