The Story of Ruth *

Ruth came to us after three months of rough sleeping and sofa surfing. She had lived with her partner for 10 years until the relationship broke down. Ruth is 58 years old.

As a British national with all of the relevant documents, her case was relatively simple. We advised her to complete an application to the Housing Register for sheltered accommodation with the council and referred her to three of the private landlords in our network.

She attended viewings and signed a tenancy agreement, picking up the keys the next day. We were able to support her with a new home starter pack as she settles in.

The entire process was completed in six days and took just over four hours of active frontline work.
